2008 Bavarian Dachshund Festival

This was my second year at the fest. Max and I were joined this year by our new pals Chelsea, Dexter, and Lucy.

I made it through a few rounds of the bobbing for wieners contest. Here I am in the first two rounds. The first time I went head to head with Dexter! He is still a puppy so I don't think he understood the rules. Next year!


I totally choked in the wiener dog races. I was tired so I just decided not leave the start line!


There were only 2 dogs in the last heat that Dex ran in. One dog did not leave the start line and Dex and the other one just took their sweet time walking halfway down the stretch until they both discovered my mom cheering for Dex to run. They both took off running and Dex won by a nose! He advanced to the next round and ran the whole way that time....but didn't win...this time!

No Lazy Sunday Here!

Dexter is staying with me for 10 whole days! We have been so full of energy that we were keeping mom and dad up all night with our constant wrestling. So, mom took us for a long walk yesterday to wear us out....and did it ever. Check out these pics post walk. We got in a nice nap and then headed outside to lay in the sun with mom.

Cooper Cancer Fighter

Today I went to work with mom. I had no idea what I was in store for. With my stars and stripes collar and leash on we drove all the way to Lansing to meet up with this bus that has been traveling the country to raise awareness about a number of issues including access to healthcare. So, we signed the bus and got a break from the 90 degree heat during our drive to the Brighton bus stop. There I continued to entertain the crowd and even met Miss Michigan!


I passed out on the passenger seat on the way home! What an exhausting day!

Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie

I have a new friend named Lucy but this one is a dachshund. Aunt Joni adopted her for Grandma Lee.

Puppy Wrestlemania

Now that Dex is getting a little bit closer to my size, (he's almost 7 lbs, I'm 10 lbs) we wrestle nonstop. We spent last weekend with grandma and now he's back for a weekend with me and mom. I think I've finally met my match. I was starting to think that noone liked to play as much as me. Man does that Dex have some energy!


I used to be able to jump on the couch to get away from him but now he can clear it too......some of the time!

Happy Birthday to Me!

My mom and I had a sleepover at Aunt Dawn and Dex's house last night. I was so excited for my bday that I could barely sleep. Mom hopes it wasn't the start of something called the "terrible twos". I got in a nice walk today in the sunshine before a rainstorm hit. Mom even gave me a treat. Rare. After chasing a few squirrels and thoroughly annoying the neighbor dogs, I am beat. Naptime!

New BFF?

Mom says that this pup, Dexter, is going to be my new BFF. Aunt Dawn just brought him home from Atlanta on Sunday. I can't wait to meet him this Thursday. If he likes to play as much as I do he will definitely be my BFF!

Check me out in these purple flowers that only last as long as tulips but had an even shorter life this year due to me running over them to bark at the neighbor's dog.

Baby Luci

I forgot to post this one awhile ago. This pic was taken in October. At the time it was closest I was ever able to get to Baby Luci. I couldn't figure out why she got to lay on my mom but I had to be on a leash in my own house! Well Luci is getting bigger now and we are great friends. I'll have to get an updated photo of us together. I can't wait for her to start walking - which won't be long - so that I have someone new to chase me!

When Harry Met Cooper

Aunt Joni had a foster dog for a few weeks. His name is Perry but we like to call him Harry.


He is dachshund mix. I loved him because he played with me nonstop.

I miss Chelsea!

Chelsea went home on Saturday after staying with me for almost 2 weeks! I think she is finally warming up to me. Watch to see how I taught her to play.

Where did all the snow go?

I'm having a hard time figuring out this Michigan weather. A few days ago Chelsea and I were romping around in the snow and now the back yard is just a giant puddle. Mom doesn't let me out there when it's like that 'cause she says I get filthy! (Remember that I am litter trained so I don't NEED to go out.) So, I just have to stare out the window and watch those darn squirrels torment me.
