Puppy Wrestlemania

Now that Dex is getting a little bit closer to my size, (he's almost 7 lbs, I'm 10 lbs) we wrestle nonstop. We spent last weekend with grandma and now he's back for a weekend with me and mom. I think I've finally met my match. I was starting to think that noone liked to play as much as me. Man does that Dex have some energy!


I used to be able to jump on the couch to get away from him but now he can clear it too......some of the time!

Happy Birthday to Me!

My mom and I had a sleepover at Aunt Dawn and Dex's house last night. I was so excited for my bday that I could barely sleep. Mom hopes it wasn't the start of something called the "terrible twos". I got in a nice walk today in the sunshine before a rainstorm hit. Mom even gave me a treat. Rare. After chasing a few squirrels and thoroughly annoying the neighbor dogs, I am beat. Naptime!

New BFF?

Mom says that this pup, Dexter, is going to be my new BFF. Aunt Dawn just brought him home from Atlanta on Sunday. I can't wait to meet him this Thursday. If he likes to play as much as I do he will definitely be my BFF!

Baby Luci

I forgot to post this one awhile ago. This pic was taken in October. At the time it was closest I was ever able to get to Baby Luci. I couldn't figure out why she got to lay on my mom but I had to be on a leash in my own house! Well Luci is getting bigger now and we are great friends. I'll have to get an updated photo of us together. I can't wait for her to start walking - which won't be long - so that I have someone new to chase me!

When Harry Met Cooper

Aunt Joni had a foster dog for a few weeks. His name is Perry but we like to call him Harry.


He is dachshund mix. I loved him because he played with me nonstop.

I miss Chelsea!

Chelsea went home on Saturday after staying with me for almost 2 weeks! I think she is finally warming up to me. Watch to see how I taught her to play.

Where did all the snow go?

I'm having a hard time figuring out this Michigan weather. A few days ago Chelsea and I were romping around in the snow and now the back yard is just a giant puddle. Mom doesn't let me out there when it's like that 'cause she says I get filthy! (Remember that I am litter trained so I don't NEED to go out.) So, I just have to stare out the window and watch those darn squirrels torment me.

I didn't realize how long it has been since I've given you an update. Sorry but the last few months have been a little hectic with the holidays and preparing for Aunt Joni's wedding. I didn't find out until last week that I wasn't invited to go to her destination wedding in Aruba. I was bummed because I think I really would have enjoyed digging in some actual sand instead of just the sheets on my bed.

But, while my mom was gone I had a great time anyway. Aunt Dawn came and stayed with me and my cousin Chelsea. I even got Chelsea to come out of her shell a little bit. I got her to play with me and she became quite the snuggler with Aunt Dawn. So much so that I was a little jealous and had to nudge her out of the way a couple times! (For those that don't know, Aunt Joni adopted Chelsea last year from some people who didn't take very good care of her. As a result, she is normally pretty timid around most people, doesn't play much, and is pretty afraid of men.)

Chelsea gets to stay until this weekend when her mom and dad get back from Aruba.

Let it Snow

Last night was the first big snow of the season. Look at the snow balls that formed on my legs and underside. They were literally stuck on me. Mom had to put me in the sink and de-ice me after my romp in the snow today! We must not have had a big snow like this last year because I don't remember that happening before. I was so excited to be outside in the snow that in between my "bunny" hops in the snow, I took my excitement out on the bark of the tree! Have a look.......

Party Pooper

I am a member of the Detroit Dachshund Meetup Group and today I went to my first event with them. It was a holiday party with about 20 dachshunds (and a few other dogs). We even had a gift exchange and I scored some new toys and treats! Watch this slide show of some of the new friends I made.

I was a little timid at first but after I checked everything out I went immediately into play mode. As you may know, one of my favorite things to do is to get other dogs to chase me. Watch this video of me towards the end of the party. I was actually slowing down a little here. It was tough for my mom to get video of me earlier because I am SO fast!



Not only did I embarass myself by actually pooping in the middle of the party yesterday (I saw at least five other dogs do it so I thought it was ok!), but I was so "pooped" out from all the running around I did that I passed out on the way home.

WOOF, WOOF, WOOF! Yesterday was my second year tailgating for the Michigan vs. Michigan State game. It was a little chilly in the shade so I spent about half the time in someone's shirt or jacket!

I went trick or treating tonight with my friends, Abby and Luci. (I'm the bumble bee!) Our moms and my grandma came too.


Abby got most of the treats but one house did have a dog treat for me!





For those that don't know, my mom is allergic to bee stings. Here I am trying to "sting" her .....it's a joke, get it?!
